Davis Defense Wins Navy Contract
for Emergency Response Preparedness

May 4, 2006
Davis Defense Group, a small, woman-owned business
with Virginia offices in Stafford and Quantico, won
a contract with the Naval Facilities Engineering
Command to assist with emergency response
preparedness in the event of terrorist attack at
Navy bases worldwide. The goal of the contract, a
potentially multi-million dollar, four year effort,
is to improve Navy installation incident response
and to enhance management of the Navy’s Chemical
Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) program.
Davis Defense will provide a Mobile Training Team to
assess the capability of Navy installations to
respond to terrorist use of weapons of mass
destruction. The team will include subject matter
experts, such as hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
equipment trainers and certified first responders,
who will provide individual and team training to
Navy personnel.
“We
are excited to be a part of the Navy planning and
preparation for this key effort. They want
excellence and we will do our best to ensure they
get it,” said Doug Davis, President and Chief
Operating Officer of Davis Defense.
Davis Defense has provided chem-bio equipment
training in almost all 50 states, and as far away as
Iraq. The company has been in business for four
years, and recently became woman-owned when Lisa
Davis joined the firm as Chief Executive Officer.
She retired from the Department of Defense (DoD)
after 22 years of experience in the acquisition
field, culminating with her final position as a
Senior Executive political appointee in the Bush
Administration. Her experience spans research and
development, contracts and industrial policy, while
Doug Davis’ 25 year DoD career has covered budget
and finance, logistics and program management.
Together, they and their staff provide a complete
range of services to the Defense Department and the
first responder community, as well as to clients
offering products and services of benefit to the
military and homeland defense.
